Augmented Reality Seminars: Rutgers University – Newark
Start Developing Augmented Reality Experiences Today!
Augmented Reality (AR) describes user experiences that add 2D or 3D elements to the live view from a device’s camera, in a way that make those elements appear to inhabit the real world. ARKit combines device motion tracking, camera scene capture, advanced scene processing, and displaying conveniences to simplify the task of building an AR experience. You can use these technologies to create many kinds of AR experiences, using either the back camera or front camera of an iOS device.
In the course, we demonstrate how to develop introductory Augmented Reality experiences using Apple’s ARKit, starting with basic development of an iOS application, to placing one object in space, to then placing multiple objects in space.
You are encouraged to bring your own laptop, however, be mindful that we are developing using Apple’s ARKit and will be developing on Macs, you will need to download a virtual machine if you are using a Windows PC.
